Sofia Margarita Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara (Spanish:, born July 10, 1972) is a Colombian-American actress and television producer, as well as a presenter and model. Vergara was the highest-paid actress on American television from 2013 to 2020.Vergara gained notoriety when co-hosting two television shows for Spanish-language television channel Univision in the late 1990s. Her first significant acting gig in English was in the movie Chasing Papi (2003). The following year, she was featured in Four Brothers (2005), Tyler Perry's Comedies Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009 which earned an ALMA Award nomination). In 2009, she started playing Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the ABC comedy series Modern Family for which she was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, and eleven Screen Actors Guild Awards.Vergara has also had roles in the films The Smurfs (2011), New Year's Eve (2011), The Three Stooges (2012), Machete Kills (2013), Fading Gigolo (2013) Chef (2014) as well as Hot Pursuit (2015). The voice-overs she did were Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also part of The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was also the highest-paid Hollywood actress in the year 2020 [citation required]. Vergara is America's Got Talent judge since 2020. Vergara was born into a Roman Catholic family from Barranquilla. Vergara's mother Margarita Vergara Devergara was a housewife, while her father Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo worked as a cattle rancher within the meat industry. In the eyes of her five siblings as well as many of her cousins, she was referred to as "Toti". Vergara was a student for three years studying dental school at the National University of Colombia. But, she chose to leave two semesters early in order to pursue modeling and showbusiness opportunities.
